Certified Nursing Assistants (C.N.A) play a vital role in the daily care of residents as well as provide support to the nursing team in a skilled nursing center as well as in other healthcare settings. Some of the day to day functions of a C.N.A include: providing basic care to residents, as well as assisting them with activities of daily living (ADL’s) such as bathing, dressing and grooming their residents.
Since the C.N.A. has a daily rapport with their residents’ in a skilled nursing center, they get to know their residents’ personalities well. They are often able to report to their supervising nurse changes in their residents’ demeanor or behaviors or even their eating habits before it can even be reported by the resident themselves or their family members.

Annually in February, Palm Garden Healthcare recognizes our Certified Nursing Assistants and team members with our C.A.R.E (Commitment, Achievement, Recognition, Excellence) Awards ceremony! During this wonderful event one team member (can be any position), and one C.N.A from each of our 15 centers located across Florida, is nominated for this award. These team members are chosen due to their exceptional team work, customer service and commitment given to their peers as well as our residents and their families during the preceding year. Not only are these team members given a beautiful award, but they and a guest are also invited to our home office in Sarasota Fl for a formal reception and dinner where they are recognized by their center directors and other team members.
Recognition of our C.N.A.’s does not stop there! For the last three years we have been honored to select two Certified Nursing Assistants to represent Palm Garden Healthcare at the annual National Association of Health Care Assistants (NAHCA) Conference! At this event they get to travel (all expenses paid) to the conference, they get to mingle with other C.N.A’s as well as healthcare professionals and participate in learning activities! A couple of years ago our C.N.A’s were able to participate in a march on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. to help support healthcare legislation! What a great way for our C.N.A’s to feel empowered and part of something much bigger than just an ordinary job!
Lastly, Palm Garden Healthcare recognizes the enormous need for qualified, caring and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistants and that it is not always easy for someone to afford going to school to change their career. Therefore, Palm Garden Healthcare has implemented our C.N.A. Sponsorship program! We have partnered with several C.N.A training programs throughout the State of Florida to offer prospective candidates the opportunity to train to become a C.N.A. for FREE! Candidates who are chosen for this program have their training paid for by Palm Garden Healthcare and after obtaining their State certification have a full-time position awaiting them in one of our beautiful centers (conditions apply). And the benefits do not end there! Full-time team members also qualify for our tuition reimbursement program, therefore for those who are interested in taking their nursing career to the next level (LPN or RN), our tuition reimbursement program will assist you in making that dream a reality!
