How Palm Garden Healthcare helps our team members & residents “Living Soulfully”
During the week of May 12-18, 2019 Palm Garden Healthcare celebrated National Skilled Nursing Care Week. Palm Garden skilled nursing centers not only provide a beautiful, inter-active home environment for seniors who call our centers home, but we also provide healthcare services to residents in need of short-term rehabilitation as well. This year the theme for National Skilled Nursing Care Week (NSNCW) was “living soulfully.”
You may ask…what exactly does it mean to live soulfully? Living soulfully means going beyond looking & feeling good. It’s more than being mindful of your thoughts or transcending your ego. It’s about being able to tune in to your own inner compass & determine what feels right for you.
So, how do our team members and our residents at Palm Garden Healthcare skilled nursing centers live soulfully? Elise Morse, Senior Director of Life Enrichment with Palm Garden Healthcare states “We do this by the life story we celebrate every day in every Palm Garden center. It is the way we recognize how each individual entrusted to our care live their best soulful life, and how that does not stop when they enter our centers.”
She continues: “we celebrated the week in each center in unique & fun ways! One center looked back to the past and celebrated by re-creating that iconic show Soul train; complete with Motown music. Other centers offered days of pampering with spa days. We even saw one center identify the human connection to animals with a very special petting zoo! Our Palm Garden Chaplains offered special worship services for the week to reach individuals with strong connections to faith and religion.”
All National Skilled Nursing Care Week activities across Palm Garden Healthcare’s fourteen centers in the State of Florida also were available to our team members to participate in. We recognize that we cannot do the work we do and provide the excellent care we provide our residents without our skilled professionals and our support staff. We always want to show them the appreciation they deserve.
